Course Policies and Information for Participants
Inclusive Learning Environment Statement
The Staff at War Horses for Veterans understand the importance of creating the best learning environment we can. If we are conversing in the lounge, or working in one of the arena’s, our goal is everyone attending feels respected while being challenged. Our goal is to create an environment where attendees can contribute and challenge themselves through communication styles and techniques. Each attendee has an active responsibility to foster a climate of respect for others, considering other backgrounds, abilities, and personal experiences, although the instructors bear the primary responsibility for its maintenance. We encourage attendees to speak directly with the instructors about any suggestions or concerns they have regarding a particular instructional phase or situation. Alternatively, attendees may bring concerns to any of the mentors assisting. All course participants, including faculty, staff, and attendees who observe an unsafe incident are asked to address it.
